The Granger H50 "Legacy" valve amplifier is a tribute to the late 60's Dave Ross amps made famous by bands like The Who, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin. Big and loud rock tone, that goes from super clean to super crunchy. This is a great medium-to-large-venue gigging amp, i.e. it gets very loud! There are interactive Pre and Post Master Volume controls, as well as Volume controls for the Normal and Bright channels, so the tonal combinations are many. There are no footswitches or relays - just pure all-tube tone using the finest tone-enhancing components. All internal components are hand selected for both their tonal characteristics and durability. Metal film, carbon composition, and carbon film resistors are all strategically used throughout the amp. The preamp consists of 4 ECC83S valves and power is rectified by selecting either a 5AR4/GZ34 rectfier tube or UF5408 diodes, via a toggle switch. The power section runs on two KT66 which produces well over 50 watts when fully overdriven into saturation. E34Ls can be substituted during ordering if you prefer a more compressed, earlier breakup in the power section. For the service-minded player, external bias adjustment pots with low voltage test points allows the user to bias each output tube (match your own tubes) when replacing output valves without removing the chassis. A 3-way "brown" standby switch can be added which when activated drops the B+ voltage down (simulates a Variac at 100VAC).
